Electricity Licence Applications - 2005

If you wish to make an application to the Regulator for the issue of a licence to authorise the operation of generation, transmission, distribution or retail of electricity in Tasmania please refer to the Information Guideline and Application Form.

November 2005

Landfill Management Services Pty Ltd

Landfill Management Services Pty Ltd applied to the Regulator for an electricity generation licence for a landfill gas-fuelled generating facility at Remount Road, Launceston, Tasmania. The facility will have a generating capacity of approximately 1.1 MW.

The Regulator undertook consultation on the application. No submissions were received and the Regulator determined to grant the application.

Bell Bay Power Pty Ltd

Bell Bay Power Pty Ltd is the holder of a generation licence for the Bell Bay Power Station. The Regulator has received an application to amend this licence to install three additional 35 MW gas turbine generator units.

The Regulator undertook consultation on the application. No submissions were received and the Regulator determined to grant the application.


September 2005

AGL Energy Services Pty Ltd - Generation Licence Application

The Regulator received an application from AGL Energy Services Pty Ltd for proposed landfill gas fuelled power generation facilities at Jackson St, Glenorchy and McRobies Gully, Hobart, Tasmania. Each facility will have a generating capacity of 1 MW. AGL Energy Services Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australian Gas Light Company.

Woolnorth Studland Bay Wind Farm Pty Ltd - Generation Licence Application

The Regulator received an application from Woolnorth Studland Bay Wind Farm Pty Ltd for an electricity generation licence. The application is for the proposed wind farm at Studland Bay, located in north-west Tasmania, approximately 40km west of Smithton. The generating plant will have a generating capacity of 75 megawatts.

The Regulator undertook consultation on the application. No submissions were received and the Regulator determined to grant the application.
