July 2005

Hobart Gas Network

The Director of Gas received an application from Powerco Tasmania Pty to vary its existing gas distribution construction licence to allow construction of additional mains in Bender Drive and Sunmont Street, Lutana (see map).

The Director of Gas invited written submissions on the application. Submissions closed 5 August 2005. No submissions were received.

The Director of Gas determined to grant the application, and issued Notice of Variation No.11 on 27 July 2005.





July 2005

Burnie Gas Network

The Director of Gas has received an application from Powerco Tasmania Pty Ltd for variation of its existing gas distribution construction licence. The application seeks to amend the proposed route of the 1 000 kPa gas network in Burnie (see map).

The Director of Gas invited written submissions on the application and submissions closed on 22 July 2005.

No submissions were received and the Regulator issued a Notice and amended the licence on 27 July 2005.





May 2005

Derwent Park Network

Powerco Tasmania Pty Ltd applied for a variation to its gas distribution network construction licence to authorise construction of additional mains at Derwent Park to service the Zinifex plant and the Derwent Park industrial estate.

    The Regulator (Director of Gas) invited written submissions on the application which closed on 6 May 2005.

    No submissions were received and the Regulator issued a Notice and amended the licence on 9 June 2005.





    January 2005

    Application by Option One Pty Ltd for the transfer to it of a licence to retail gas.

    Powerco Energy Services Pty Ltd is the holder of a retail licence to sell gas in Tasmania and has traded under the name of Option One.

    Option One Pty Ltd sought a transfer of the licence held by Powerco Energy Services Pty Ltd as it became incorporated in its own right. It is also a requirement under ring-fencing guidelines that Option One be separately incorporated.

    The Regulator invited written submissions on the transfer, and consultation closed on 18 February 2005. No submissions were received and the Regulator issued a Notice of Variation and amended the licence on 12 September 2005.

    The Regulator determined to approve the transfer to Option One Pty Ltd.
